Melissa Griffis specializes in Land Use and Zoning matters, Contracts, Wills, Trusts and Estates, and general Civil Litigation for Rosenzweig, Jones, Horne & Griffis. She is a certified Mediator/Arbitrator in both family and civil matters, and a Collaborative Law attorney. Melissa’s practice area includes serving as a mediator, arbitrator and litigator in Coweta, Carroll, Troup, Heard and Meriwether counties.
Melissa Griffis has represented numerous real estate developers and individual homeowners over during her career, with the goal of modifying the existing land use/zoning of properties. As a Newnan native, Melissa is an expert on zoning requirements and the comprehensive Land Use Plan and Future Development Map for Coweta County and other surrounding areas within the Three Rivers region.
Melissa Griffis has served as general counsel to the Coweta County Water and Sewerage Authority since 2011, and has recently been appointed as general counsel to the Peachtree City Water and Sewerage Authority. She handles multiple issues with this representation from Open Records Act Laws to Employment issues.
Melissa Griffis is admitted to all courts in the State of Georgia and the State of Alabama. She is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Newnan serving as a youth Sunday School Teacher, Volunteer and Ladies Bible Study Leader. Melissa is a past Chairman of the Elm Street Elementary School Council, a Sustaining Member of the Newnan Junior Service League (Executive Board 2005-2009) and a graduate of the Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce Leadership Coweta. Melissa, her husband and children reside in Newnan.
